Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Bedrock Tallahassee Masonry and Concrete website and any estimate, quote or work you get from us. By using the site, asking for an estimate or hiring us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
In these terms, "we," "us" and "our" mean Bedrock Tallahassee Masonry and Concrete, and "you" means the person using the site or hiring us. If a signed contract for your job says something different from these terms, the contract controls for that job.
What we do
Bedrock Tallahassee Masonry and Concrete is a masonry contractor in Tallahassee, FL. We build and repair brick, block, stone and concrete work for homes in Tallahassee and the cities around it, including foundations, chimneys, retaining walls, pavers, walkways, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens. Our home page lists the services we offer, and our About page tells you more about who we are.
What the website says about our services is general information. It isn't an offer to do any particular job and it isn't advice about your house, because only a written estimate or contract sets the scope of your work.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free and done in person, and asking for one puts you under no obligation. We look at the job on site because the condition of what's behind the brick, the ground under the base and the access to your yard all change the price.
An estimate is our best figure for the work it describes, based on what we can see before the job is open. It holds for the period written on it, and after that we may need to update it if material costs have changed.
If we open the job and find hidden damage, such as rotted framing, failed footings or buried debris, we stop, show you what we found and give you a written change before doing the extra work. We won't charge for added work you haven't approved, unless we have to act right away to keep your house or our crew safe.
Scheduling and cancellation
We set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Start dates and finish times are our best plan and not a promise, because rain, cure times for mortar and concrete, material deliveries and what we find once the job is open can all push them back. We'll tell you as soon as we know a date is moving.
If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us at (850) 391-6065 or reach us through our contact page as early as you can. Cancelling before work starts costs nothing unless we've already ordered special materials for your job or your contract says otherwise, and in that case you may owe for those materials. If you cancel after work starts, you pay for the work done and the materials bought up to that point.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area on the scheduled days, with pets secured and vehicles moved, and to tell us about any buried lines, sprinkler pipes or septic parts you know about. If the work area is blocked, your date may move.
Payment
Your written estimate or contract sets the price, any deposit and when each payment is due. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished, and we'll tell you which payment methods we accept before the job starts.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid, and you may owe reasonable collection costs where the law allows them. If anything on an invoice doesn't make sense to you, ask us before the due date so we can sort it out.
Our workmanship and what isn't covered
Your satisfaction is guaranteed, so if something we built or repaired isn't right, call us and we'll come out to look at it and work with you on a fix. Any written warranty for your job is the one in your contract, and it covers only what that contract says.
Apart from a written warranty in your contract, and to the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Masonry and concrete are natural materials, so some things are normal and aren't defects. These include hairline cracks in concrete, slight color differences between new and old brick or mortar, efflorescence, which is the white powder that can show up on new masonry, and natural variation in stone. We also aren't responsible for problems caused by settling or water from outside our work, by other people's work, by misuse, or by materials you supplied.
Warranties on manufactured products, such as pavers or fireplace units, come from the manufacturer and follow the manufacturer's terms.
Limitation of liability
Bedrock Tallahassee Masonry and Concrete is licensed and fully insured. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost rental income.
The website is provided as is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's free of errors or always available, and we aren't liable for losses from relying on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Resolving a problem
If you have a concern about our work or a bill, call us first at (850) 391-6065 or write to us through the contact page. Most problems get settled by walking the job together, and we'd rather fix something than argue about it.
If we can't work it out within 30 days, we both agree to try mediation with a neutral mediator before going to court and to split the mediator's fee equally. This doesn't stop either of us from filing a claim when that's needed to protect a right before a legal deadline runs out.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any court case about them will be brought in the courts located in Leon County, Florida, and you and we both agree to those courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and will post the new version on this page. The terms in place when you sign your contract apply to that job, and the current terms apply to your use of the website.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
If you have questions about these terms, call us at (850) 391-6065, Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 10 PM or Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM, or send a message through our contact page. Expect a reply within 1 business day.
